Hopie's Birthday Limericks

 

For Hopie Keck on her 75th birthday:

 Oh, toll the bells on the twenty-twoth,

We just were told what’s couth:

Oh man alive,

Hopie’s seventy five!

And that’s the gospel sooth!

 

Gramps says: I misheard/misremembered the right date.  Here is the first version which I consider to be better:

Oh toll the bells on the twenty-third,

Given what we have already heard:

Oh man alive,

Hopie’s seventy-five!

Any you know that’s not absurd!

North Dakota

 We moved to North Dakota in 1946.  I told my brother that this state had an opportunity to cut up the land and sell it to other states to use as landing strips.  I wonder what he thought of me.
